Cheetah PV'S VS Block off plates

Ok I have a few Question's. Not to get it twisted my 535 Runs Great. But here is the Question. What is better ,the PV'S or the Block off plates? I just Bought a set of block of plates and had them port matched to the exhaust port. I had a builder tell me to get rid the PV'S but some people told me that there bikes ran like shit without them, and some told me there bike ran great with with, So what is the Advantage and disadvantage? I drag the bike 90% of the time only dune it once in a blue moon. The bike has a full drag port done by D&M racing. So I do not know if that will hurt or help with the block off, since it was ported with the PV'S. I know there are a few cheetah Guys in here Like CAM ATV and Windycityjohn, I know Cam loved the PV'S, But why? I know it smooths out the hit of the motor. But what do u block off plates do? Would i have to change my timing or jetting with the block off plates? I am Just trying to understand the the use of PV'S and block off.

It's simple.

If your drag racing then the PV's don't have any work to do, your at high rpms the whole time.

If your trail, woods, or dune riding then I would use them for the extra low-end they were designed to give you.

Do u have a Cheetah Motor? Looks like that yellow bike is stock jug? Can u tell me the difference on how the motor performs with a PV or a block off?

lol you can't even see the jugs. No it's not a Cheetah or even a PV motor.

I'm not too sure how much experience you have with PV's but all they do it raise and lower the exhaust port timing.

It will not make you faster in a drag race but it will lower the exhaust port timing on the low end for more power and a flater torque curve.

I will bow out at this point cause my 10mil isn't anything like yours I'm sure someone will chime in for you brother.

My .02 for what it's worth is, I'd run the PV unless your just drag racing.

I have Run them for years,I know they are for low end, No trying to disrespect you at all, but i wanted the option of Cheetah owners. Some that I have talk to said the bike runs like shit low mid and high, and some said they just are plan better, with the PV the power comes on smooth, with the block off it hits hard so i was told. never ran block off plates,So that is want i want to know how different motor will fell, I know I will not gain HP, just the differnce in the feel of the bike.

For riding where you are on and off the throttle the powervalves let the motor recover faster. You won't make much more "low end power" but the motor will recover better when "off the pipe."

But overall your loosing power because the powervalves smooth out the hit of the pipe by "Blocking the power from hitting as hard."

For your stated use....ditch the powervalves.

John I tryed to send u a Pm before I made this post, put it says u can not receive any new messages, But any how. U and cam are the one I really want to talk to since u guys have alot of time with the cheetah. I know cam Love's the PV'S. I also remember reading some were u had Both PV's and block off plates. I guess what i am wanting to know is if the block off plates make the bike feel more like a 2 stroke with the hard hit of the pipe.
