yamaha driver
So the clutch slips if i hit the powerband in almost every gear so im guessing its time to rebuild it. But also if its in first and i pull the clutch in and start it, it will lurch forward about 3 feet. Do they all do that or is that something in the clutch that needs replacing. Also Any recommended clutch kits? i was looking at F.A.S.T's clutch kit and was thinking about that one
ClayAiken
Could be cable stretch or out of adjustment. Eliminate the cheap shit first. Tusk clutches are decent if i remember correctly. Edited October 7, 2012 by KatyPerry

Yea my adjustment is screwed all the way in and my banshee will first start to move when my clutch lever is almost all the way out
ClayAiken
Yea my adjustment is screwed all the way in and my banshee will first start to move when my clutch lever is almost all the way out So it slips in gears but it lurches when you start it? Sounds like its time for a clutch.

I might miss one or two things hopefully someone else will chime in. Make sure both Hubs are not warped, the basket isnt broken or grooved and everything is tight in there. I know im forgetting a few things.

joey83
Kp is right. check for grooves in the basket etc. I would do a pancake bearing since you're there.
thomas h.
Once you get in the new clutch and you arrows line up and the clutch lever is pulled in and it still will lurch when you start it. I heard that could be the tranny starting to lock up or weld its self together. My brothers bike does that and he's going to replace the tranny soon. I'll let you know if that fixes it. I also ordered 2 moose carb kits since last time i had my carb tops off one of my needle tips were bent. Im not sure how they bend unless someone installed it wrong the first time
