What are the chances of this seal sealing up once motor is cranked and warmed up or should I say fuck it and tear it down for the third time and put another brand new seal in it.

I had the same issue the other night, Call me a redneck but I just put another spring on it and filled it with some grease and I no longer have a leak. Will it last? Who the fuck knows........

I'd probly do the same but this is a brand new cub and a lot of $ invested. Is kick myself in the balls if it shit the bed in a few hours of runtime. I guess I just answered my own ? Might as well tear it back down unless someone chimes in with good news, but I know this is one of those situations were anything could happen.

Did you apply a litte grease to the crank before you put the seal in?

Yup, but that was Damn near 2 months ago and the crank has been in and out of a few cases. Fuck it, I'm tearing it back down next weekend. Too enexpensive of a part to neglect.

Better to get it right before you run it and ruin it. what seals are you using? ( brand)

Not sure, whatever K&T sent with it. No disrespect to K&T but think Im gonna do a little research on crank seals before I order another.

So they sent you a motor that was leaking? I'd call and talk to Kim, he will make it right

No, I put it together, he sold me the cub, port matched case and rebuilt my crank. I'm not positive that I got the seals from him to be honest, but its no big deal. I'm just wondering what brand to go with.

How many hours are on the crank? I've seen a band of wear from the seal on the crank in my 79' YZ400.

I don't remember seeing any wear marks in that area, I usually check that area before I install any seal, but that was a few beers ago. I'll find out this weekend.

Oh, and I should be able to pull the bottom case and remove the seal without pulling the jugs right. I read that could the other day but wanted to verify.
