bignasty1 Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 okay well my conditions i ride in are some what dusty so i was wantin to check out that toomey air filter set op and i was wonderin if it would be worth the change? i am just a lil nervouse bout runin paper filters that i had a problem with lettin a lil dust get in on dusty days on my z so i am think a foam filter would be better but i dont want to run a air box and i am switching to either cpi, rocket, or the thunder inframe pipes and was wonderin if it would flow good enough to run with those pipes? sorry for the novel i am just curious. fixitrod Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 Sounds like you know what you want. Go with to toomey 2 into one with a uni foam filter. Then, you don't have to worry about the filters touching the pipes. Quote
BenBB Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 I agree with fixitrod, the Toomey setup gets you the airflow and dust protection you're after... Quote
bignasty1 Posted October 8, 2003 Author Report Posted October 8, 2003 yeh i orderd the toomey today was just concerened that it wouldnt flow as good as the k&ns but i am tired of cleaning them manditorilly after every couple hours cuz its so damn dusty. Quote
Stomp77 Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 I used the dual pods for about 2 months, and they bit the big one, always leaking around the seals they never seemed to fit quite right. I bought the toomey 2:1 and like the way it fits and if anything i think it flows more air because of the top being opened up. its all on the toomey web site . just my 2c Quote
bignasty1 Posted October 22, 2003 Author Report Posted October 22, 2003 cool man i ordered one it should be here any time soon. but thanks for the info. Quote

I went form K&N clamp-ons to the toomey 2:1 w/Uni filter & I didn't even have to re-jet. Shee breathes just as good with the K&N's,....and no more buying outerwears every dune trip & less maintinance. The foam filter is a breeze to clean compared to the K&N's. IMHO, the 2:1 is one of the best mods I've done yet. Quote
