So Cal Suspension
Kick started fine then decided to ditch the j arm and go to a arm now it won't kick start but will start when pushed and dropping the clutch. Any ideas? Could just be a coincidence, but do a compression check. Sounds like you've got low compression. Do a leakdown test as well, and see if you've got any significant air leaks keeping it from starting.
old put-put
I don't know much about the conversion but if you did any welding on the frame when doing the conversion did you unplug the electronics like stator, cdi, coil if not you could have damaged them when welding on the frame.
