koster88
Wanted to say thanks to everyone on this Forum. I just completed my 1st Complete Build up. I've owned Banshee's for over 16 years now, but always paid others to do the work, or bought perfect bikes. 2 Months ago my brothers banshee over heated. The Impeller was Melted. I started reading and reading on here, and decided to give it a try. Made a few mistakes, but corrected them from the info on here. I never really understand how these motors worked. Everyone said they were "simple", but splitting cases didn't sound too simple to me. I talked my self into it after reading 100's of posts and You Tube Videos. I sent my Cylinders off to Kevin at HGR, and he gave me a ot of good tips and boosted my confidence. I put it all back together today, and 1 kick, and it started. I could not believe my ears when it started right up. I do have a prob with the right Carb leaking out the overflow tune. ( I assume stuck bowl, so I'll have to pull that out and give it a good cleaning. Thanks guys!!
ATVridinMaNiAc
Hell yea thats good to hear , its how it all starts just gotta read and get tons of info in your head then just go at it and you will learn over time, trial and error. These things are expensive enough to mod and stuff it sucks to pay somebody to do everything, its also fun as hell and rewarding to just be able to work on the bike yourself anyways. To most people building and working on it is more enjoyable then actually riding. Methfireroad
This is a great sight and most of the people on here ate really helpful. As far as ur carbs leaking out the over flow could be the float but I put my money on the needle and seat. If the needles are old and they sit for a long they get a ring around the rubber where the needle comes in contact with the seat. You can pull the bowls of the carb that is leaking and look to see if y can see the ring. I just had the same problem changed the needles and seat and fixed the prob. Hope this helps.
