skimsurf
where to start. i bought a 99 banshee a year ago from a friend under the pretense it ran just didnt go. long story short, after a full rebuild it doesnt want to start, or idle. east coast atv did the rebuild. the only other thing on the bike that isnt stock is the t-5 pipes and a boost bottle. i dont know what the boost is, but i know its on there. this is chinese algebra to me. my buddy who used to race a banshee with a cheetah build has it now, he broke it in for me after the rebuild, and he said i needed a jet kit, new reeds, and some other stuff. i got a 6 sigma stage 3 jet kit, came with 260-300 cfm jets, rings, and spacers for the needles etc. he is going to put them in. will this fix the problem? I am sure east coast checked the compression etc. The only way we could get it to fire was to pull the air filter and cover it with my hand. its enough to get it to suck fuel to start, then you have to stay on the throttle. my buddy adjusted the carbs a bit, he said it would idle a little bit, but he couldnt fix the starting problem. this thing is driving me a little crazy. whatever help you can offer is much appreciated. thanks! hoppedupandcutdown
Sure should of had the jetting dailed in before break-in, and sounds like pilots, but, check you choke cross-over hose, I only always chime in with this because I thought for sure mine was connected once, and just didn't look close enough. joey83
My choke doesnt work bc the orings on it are trashed. you can spin the wntire choke out with a 12mm wrench and check. The no idle.and having to stay on throttle could be pilot jets or air leak.
Jereme6655
between the two stock carbs should be a small black choke tube about 3 inches long. good luck starting a banshee if that is not in place. also what is your current jetting at? and what all has been done to your banshee and what temp/elevation are you at? 03DMshee
If your choke wont stay out put a cloths pin on rod once its out...I don't think that's issue though

j stang
Make sure your throttle slides are in the right cards you should see a half moon in the back of the carbs if there in wrong it won't idle
