The kick start jingles from where it turns in and out. When you blast the gas it does it really loud. What has worn out and where do i goto to get the replacement part?

Here's what they look like.

Look for site sponsor. get a bigger want list first so shipping ain't more than the part

Does the whole kick start have to come out? Is it a simple replacement?

Is it compatible with wet clutches? If it is not, I would not even use it to flush the cases.

I called Yamaha and they said never put 10W-30 in the case. They said I had to use a motorcycle oil only. I am not sure if they were trying to sell me oil or not. Could somebody clear up this issue for me?

I have also run 10w30 in mine , kevin @hjr told me to run atf for best results.

I've ran plain ol motor oil, ATF, type f, 80w trans lube, 15w40 diesel oil, etc. Your clutch has to be pretty jacked up for one of those fluids to screw it up. You're better off with a specific trans/clutch fluid for the piece of mind. Some of the 4 stroke guys swear by the diesel oils. If they can run it in the entire engine we can run it in our trans. And most of that is pretty cheap.

The thing you'll find about the stealership guys is they usually are all about the stock stuff. If you start getting much past the way a bike looks when it comes out of the crate alot of those guys don't have a clue.

So you think it would be OK to run the 20W-50 motor oil?
