joey83
Hey guys. I'm soooo close to wrapping up this little Banshee build good enough to ride little sahara. I'm running a little lean. Just did my TORS delete and was going to set idle and warmed it up and when I let off it idles high for a second or two then comes down. I'm going to try again this evening with the air filter back on. Will it make a big difference? Because I'm way lean on the bottom end. Top end is decent. Bike used to have a 4mm crank, a little porting and VF3 reeds. I went back with stock crank and stock cylinders with no porting because everything was trashed. Current Mods: FMF fattys pro flo with K&N +4 timing Stock stroke, bore, no porting etc. Jets are Stock 25's on primaries and 270 mains and I'm about 800'. It has an after market pin with 6 notches and I'm at 4th from bottom. Thoughts??
Starwriter
I would do a leakdown test before you ride it again. Could very well be an air leak. Could also be throttle cable hanging up.
joey83
I just rebuilt this engine and broke it in. I did a leakdown and passed with flying colors. Im going to order a pilot jet and if that hanging idle doesnt go away Ill leak down check again.
joey83
BTW where is the best place to order jets? I may end up trying a few diff main jets but my primary is def not cutting it.
Starwriter
Wow! Even if the bigger pilots solves the problem, you could still have an air leak. Isn't it worth the peace of mind to just leakdown test it and make sure? You are already gonna have the carbs off. It only takes a few minutes to pull the pipes. If you have to order the pilots, you're going to be sitting on your thumbs till they get there anyway.

You're 38 miles from Tulsa. Hop in the car, go get your jets, grab lunch at Hooters and be back in time to watch Dr. Oz.

Just thought you guys may know a sponsor that sells them cheap. And its tough to make it to tulsa after work before the dealers close. It would be nice to have several sizes laying around. I will do a leak check while carbs are off again. it doesnt have an hour total ride time. plug chop shows decent to maybe a little lean. may try a 280 main as well. My biggest question was about the air filter being off. Thanks for the lead R.R.L. Still laughing about Dr Oz...
