BansheeTeam
Okay so the only mods I'm currently set up with are Toomey T5's, Pod K&N's with outerwears, 300 main jet 30 pilot, +4 timing, V-force reed valves 3, 15/41. That's it for performance. I'm quite happy with the overal performance it's really nice and strong but I want more top end what should I do I don't really wanna go into porting or changing the gearing I'm thinking of boring .10 or .20 when it's time for a top end rebuild maybe throw in coolheads with 21cc domes but for now I'm thinking of probably a boost-bottle, bigger carbs. Something that'll help me in top speed any suggestions. What if I change my carbs what would I do with the jetting and would my pods fit, if not I can re-install the air-box cause I have a newUni airfilter that i'm planning to install when the weather starts to get nasty i can run it with lets say a 280 main without the led and maybe have some vents. What carbs? Is it worth getting a boost bottle? I do have an adjustable timing plate installed it's just not on +4 right now its set to the stock position what gains will I see when I +4 it. Current top speed approximately 86 (Trail Tech Vapor) Thanks everyone!
special06shee
Keep the stock carbs.. No boost bottle.. Just get it ported!! You will see really no difference in boring the cylinders, boring is more of a repair then mod!! Porting will be the best thing for that bike hands down!! gotta_goatsfast
You'll see way more gains from porting than you will from big carbs on a stock port cyl. If you are taking the top end apart for the next bore size, why not just send them out to be ported and bored?
BIGONTS
I was in the same situation last year after running stock carbs for 8+ years. Went with 33mm PWKs with boss intake with internal crossover. Best mod I ever did and wish I did it earlier. Quality, ease of tunning, flexibility , throttle response, etc... as far as tunning I started fat and worked down. Went through about 4 jet sizes before I got it right. Totally recommend it. I wound put 28mm PWKs on stock or mild motor without hesitation.
mike0chek
you could definitely port it for about the same price as new carbs, or do both
BansheeTeam
I've been getting a lot of people telling me to port here so I might as well do it but there is just one problem. I don't know any place that does it in my country (Bahrain) or if they do I'm a afraid its going to be a shity port and have my motor wrecked in a couple of months. I can ask around and have my motor sent to the UAE I heard they do really good stuff down there specially with banshee's but then I have to pay shipping est. And honestly I'm broke and i'm only 16 hahah Other than porting what can I do small gains big gains anything that wouldn't hurt my motor I'm fine with Reliability is the most important thing here if your bike shuts down in the middle of any public place the traffic police will take your bike and you'll never get it back. But my shee does 87 so they in for a chase. Basterds lol
