rkc Posted August 22, 2012 Report Share Posted August 22, 2012 (edited) I just turned 55 2 weeks ago & decided it was time to bring the Banshee out of a 4 year hiatus. I think the problem was there 5 years ago but I'm don't quite remember. Anyways, one pipe smokes more than the other during idle. The smoke dissipates as it warms up. Here's what I've done so far with no change, carbs cleaned everything looks good, needle jets, mains are the same as each other, floats are free floating. Spark is good both sides & tried swapping plugs and plug wires. Compression is the same on both sides and the slides are almost perfectly positioned to each other during idle ( smokey side might be .020 higher). One difference I did see when looking at the slide, on the smokey side, was condensation right on the slide, carbs are stock. The only thing I didn't check yet was the Vforce III reeds, one kick starts .Any ideas will be appreciated.. rkc Posted August 23, 2012 Author Report Share Posted August 23, 2012 Tks Fastbanshee8 for your reply they were both backed out 1.5 turns. Let me rephrase my question for more responses. What am I missing I've got one cylinder loading up with fuel that seems too rich on that side. When I throttle up the RPM's and jump off the throttle a pile of smoke dumps out the one exhaust pipe. Rustynail Posted August 27, 2012 Report Share Posted August 27, 2012 Loading up like its not firing on one cylinder than when you rev it up it fires and burns all the fuel out the one side....thats a clogged pilot....tear into to that carb remove the pilot and clean the jet really well on the inside...
