ATVridinMaNiAc Posted August 14, 2012 Report Share Posted August 14, 2012 (edited) Ok i finally pulled the side cover off this banshee i just got, which has a clutch that slips after 3rd gear mainly, i want some opinions on the wear on the inner and outter hub and some of the other stuff before i start trying to replace stuff, another member on here has a real good deal on some stuff id like to buy, the fibers and plates i wanted to take a micrometer to but i couldnt find it I discovered the billet impellar and the moose basket when i took it apart, the clutch dampners were completely crapped also it looked, thanks for any help, my first banshee. sheerider11 Posted August 14, 2012 Report Share Posted August 14, 2012 Clutch is toast. That brown shit on the hub is a pretty dead give away. The basket looks good. Bushings are cheap. A new hub and pressure plate are cheap too just in case they are warped. If your getting the one from wacko just buy it before it's gone. ATVridinMaNiAc Posted August 16, 2012 Author Report Share Posted August 16, 2012 Is that inner and outer hub really that bad? i cant believe it slipped like it did for just that much wear, i also measured the fibers and there supposedly in spec, 2.7mm was the min req according to book all those fibers were like 2.95 ish... ATVridinMaNiAc Posted August 16, 2012 Author Report Share Posted August 16, 2012 Yea i just checked it with a digital dial caliper and the friction plate thickness was fine, not sure if i have a dial indicator, just thought it was strange the fibers checked out fine and in my opinion the wear on inner and outer hub didnt seem all that bad.
