Dahl87banshee Posted August 7, 2012 Report Share Posted August 7, 2012 Once and a while it will spark but not very often. I have checked the pick up gap and wiring connections. I am thinking its the coil but I have been wrong before. Any help would be appreciated. Also looking for a coil and possibly a stator, but I'll make a wanted add for that. thomas h. Posted August 8, 2012 Report Share Posted August 8, 2012 My key switch when bad. Have you considered stripping down the harness to the minimum? Clean your ground too. Dahl87banshee Posted August 8, 2012 Author Report Share Posted August 8, 2012 Yeah it's already trimmed down to nothing. No extra wires hanging and lights go on when it starts. I think I'm going to make a new wiring harness off this diagram (already did last year but I'll make another one and try it) Hopefully it works. A sheered key can cause the flywheel to come off the tapered end and then not be press fit to spin when the motor cranks over... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dahl87banshee Posted August 8, 2012 Author Report Share Posted August 8, 2012 Yeah checked the flywheel key too, that was my first guess. And I don't have the kill switch, just a tether.
