hotrodbanshee
I am wanting to replace my factory stator and clutch cover with some shiny ones. Is it better to go with polished or Chrome aluminum?
bansheesandrider
I am wanting to replace my factory stator and clutch cover with some shiny ones. Is it better to go with polished or Chrome aluminum? You can polish your OEM clutch cover and just buy a stator cover. Polished aluminum is cheaper, you can do the clutch cover yourself, it won't rust but it will dull and need to be touched up from time to time. Chromed aluminum is more expensive, there is also the possibility of the chrome flaking off the aluminum. My general rule is to polish my aluminum, and chrome steel or iron items. hotrodbanshee
I would like to go with Chrome aluminum but would hate to see start flaking off. Is there any type of sealent to put on freshly polished aluminum that would make it last longer?

hotrodbanshee
Where is a good place to get chrome clutch and stator covers? As far as a stator cover would like to get one with flames. I had found a chrome clutch cover on ebay a while back, but been checking lately and no luck.
10milmike
If you get a polished one, you can always get a clear powdercoat over it so you never have to polish again. I did that with my cylinders 3 years ago and they still look like I just polished Them.
