YocumC4
I just got a banshee. my first 2 stroke. I've been on a 400ex and i thought i would give it a whirl. I was out riding yesterday and I brought it up to get something to drink. I shut it off and when i went to go again it wouldn't start. I kicked and kicked forever. i tryed rolling it too and got nothing. I checked the plugs and they're fine. I just went and checked the plug wires and on of them off. Not from the plug but the other end of the wire. I don't really know what it is and i guess i need a new one. any help for a newbie?

YocumC4
What? My bad i was typing fast. I mean't to say one of the wires to the coil was off, Do they screw back into the coil? Like do they have threads? It runs great when it starts, but i am not getting any fire it seems. I put fresh gas in it, and I will get new plugs tomorrow. But i need to know about the coil before i go buying a new one.
Nieskes
I have had few coils go bad, Have you ohmn'd yours out? Did the stock clips that hold the wires in break off on your coil? If they did take the wire and push it back in, then what I did on the stock coil is electrical taped the wire to the coil to prevent it from pulling back out. If they did take the wire and push it back in, then what I did on the stock coil is electrical taped the wire to the coil to prevent it from pulling back out. I shoved it back in there today and then pulled the new spark plug out, and put it in my ngk plug wire, and i kicked it over to see if i was getting spark and I am, so i put the plug back in and It would try to fire, but then it wouldn't start. I know I am getting gas, I know I am getting spark, and it fires, but doesn't start running. Any help appreciated.
Nieskes
If your pilot is to rich you will be kicking all day, how wet are your plugs? Are your carbs sync'd?
YocumC4
If your pilot is to rich you will be kicking all day, how wet are your plugs? Are your carbs sync'd? The weirdest thing happened, I went back to clean it get the dirt off of it, and after i got done washing it, i kicked it once and it started. I don't know why, but it starts and runs great again. I have no idea why, but all is good. Thanks so much !
YocumC4
And just like that, i go to ride it again, and the F***ing think won't start. I just don't understand. It ran fine and then I put it up, i go to ride it again and I kick and kick and it fires for a second and then won't start again. I am going to get rid of this POS. sheerider11
that's a bad ground or contact most likely. seems like the water made a good enough contact and when it dried up, so did your contact. I'd go over the whole harness and really check all my grounds and connections. these bikes are easy if you take the time and think a little bit. there stupid simple machines. Okay i found what the problem was, the ignition wires were barely making contact so it would fire and not enough current would make it through i guess so right now it is back to being a one kick machine. i may finally have it figured out.
