CAJUN BANSHEE Posted July 29, 2012 Author Report Posted July 29, 2012 Ok, so chariot proved me wrong on sluggish shipping lol. Got it yesterday and its fkn sweet. So glad I went with chrome, thanks for the good info guys, I'm putting her together today. Oh and did I forget to mention (CHARIOT IS DA SHIT) Quote
CAJUN BANSHEE Posted July 29, 2012 Author Report Posted July 29, 2012 A bit of info that may be missleading on chariots eBay listing is that the stock studs do not work on the chariot head if you have a cub. At least it doesn't on mine. It looks as if the holes in the cylinder for the studs are deeper than the stock cylinder, therefore allowing the stud to screw down further and only allowing about 3 threads above the head. This is the case with all of the studs except the 2 in front of the cylinders. I ordered the pd stud kit thinking they will work. For $40 I hope so. I don't think I'm missing anything but this is the first cub I've owned so maybe some of the veterans may chime in. Still love the head though Quote
Phelps Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 the pd studs wont work, but you could have got ARP studs from m&m for 38 or used blue loctite and not screwed the studs all the way into the cylinders. Quote
guns4children Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Blue goo and stock studs on mine. Have 40 plus hours and no problems. Quote

Idk man, I like to bottom out when I can lol I'll just cut them if I have to. I'm very picky and want it to be safe and secure. No offense to ya brother Quote
dajogejr Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 I used stock studs on my cub motor. Hand thread in the studs and use RTV on them. You do NOT have to bottom them out. No issues with mine. Quote

Your right the pd won't work, luckily I got my money refunded to me today. I'll hit up m&m right now thanks bro Quote
Phelps Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 you will love the arp studs. they are a touch longer and have a nice allen head for easy installment and removal Quote

dajogejr Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 My next build will have the ARP studs and the Chariot head as well. They're a little pricey, but the most critical bolts on the motor if you ask me. Quote

I guess I'm weird like that. Quote

Still love the head though If you consider it an issue than it is an issue with cub and not our head. Our head is the exact thickness as stock. You choose what studs to use with your cub cylinder. Whate ver studs you would choose for a stock head on a cub would be the same. Thanks for purchasing our products! Jerry Quote
CAJUN BANSHEE Posted July 31, 2012 Author Report Posted July 31, 2012 Hey jerry, I'm not complaining about the head or making a fuss about any product. I apologize if it may have sounded that way. I was trying to get info on what studs to use since I purchased stock studs and pro design studs and neither worked. Now I was told in this thread to back out the stock studs but I wanted to find something that would fit exact. I now have a set on order that should work. I don't want you to misunderstand my thread as blasting you or your product, I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of your products. I have purchased from you a few times and was completely satisfied. I hope I cleared this up a bit if you were upset. Thanks for the reply Jerry Dennis Quote
camatv Posted July 31, 2012 Report Posted July 31, 2012 oem stock studs on cubs wont work on any head really. last few i have made my own studs for the cub cylinder's. or you can go the cheap route and lock tight them hangin half way out the cylinders. it works. i just dont do it. the arp studs are nice but they are a lower grade stainless exhaust stud for ricer's... never stretched any that i have seen tho Quote
