yanickfc
Hey guy, My 2005 banshee does't start anymore!!!! :-( We cleaned the carb pretty well and buy 2 carb rebuild kit, they guy who installed carb is a mechanic so I'll asume it's installed well. He tested and gas goes in the carb I removed a spark plug and check if I have fire, yes I have a spark when kick starting when I've tried to pull start, it would burn some gas but it's not starting When I kick start, plug don't seem to get any gas I did a compression test, 80 and 100 psi My friend told me that reed valve seemed to be ok.. what do you think, could that low compression be the probleme or should it start anyway? Oh and no more tors, brain unplug
TheBigShabowski
Compression seems really low. Prob time for a new top end
BrockMoto
Thats super low compression, sounds like its time for a rebuild. Make sure to do a leak down when your done
db25
Low compression for sure, sounds like it is time for a new top end
db25
Should be around 125 psi
yanickfc
Yeah I know that compression is low and will need to do some job on top end but the question is Should the bike start with 80 and 100 psi or I am hunting for another problem? bebetekbanshee358
Try push starting or a shot of starting fluid...
fastbanshee8
With that low of compression, starting is very hard, if not impossible. As far as other problems being present, who knows, until you replace the top end.
Dahl87banshee
Try push starting or a shot of starting fluid... Do NOT use starting fluid. These take mixed gas, starting fluid isn't good lubrication. Pull starting should get it to pop up.

hoppedupandcutdown
pour a half a cap of oil in each cylinder thru the spark plug holes, that will tempoarily seal the rings so it will kick start. can also do a "wet" compression test that way.
