joey83
Hey guys. Bought this Banshee a couple weeks ago and got it torn down last night. According to previous owner it had low hours on rebuilt top end and he loaned it to a friend and the friend returned it with a bad motor. I'm about to start going back together with it and don't want it to lean out and burn up again. Are there any common problems I need to look for? Intake boots etc look good. I 'm guessing he filled it up with straight gas and burned it up. The left rod bearing got HOT and it threw a rod through the case. Any opinions??? Thanks!! #1JUANstunna
Straight gas FTW! That's my guess
joey83
Left side had broken rod. This is the right side piston.
ginger
looks like it had minimal oil or a bearing blow up
joey83
looks like lack of oil WOW that's a sick bike! Thanks for the reply. Straight gas you think? Paranoid about melting this thing down after a fresh rebuild....
sheerider1026
Straight gas. That engine was ran with no lubrication. My guess is that someone topped the tank off thinking it would be ok since it still had a little mixed gas in it. Dumbasses
dajogejr
Pull the other side piston and look for the same discoloration, that's a whole lot of heat, especially to break at the big end of the rod like that.

lms1977
Can you look at the gas in the tank? Is it mixed although sometimes its hard to tell.
