Shearer or sniper pipes

Recommended Posts

Well here's a statement l can agree with.

The 100LL AV fuel actually has a higher Octane rating than it appears if it was rated the same as auto fuel. Lead is one of the better detonation preventers out there.

Tim Bond over at Titan racing says you can go from 100LL to vp110 and can do it with just air screw adjustments. (Basically domes designed for VP110 with work the same with 100LL)

He also says that motors that run on the 100LL end up running cleaner and have better lube from the lead. (The older cars ran leaded and it helped lube the valves and valve seats.)

I'd run the 100LL myself except here in Illinois they treat AV fuel like a controlled substance. You try to buy 5 gallons and they just about pit you on a National terrorist list. :o

So I wasn't kidding. Mailman was running 100LL and it should be just like numbers and performance you would see from VP 110.

108 at the worst.

That is great to know! I just had 65 gallons delivered to my home Friday morning...

wow so when ever someone just totally kicks the forum leaders ass on here he just comes on and deletes his posts. He not only deleted these posts on here he deleted all my posts, now im back to 1 now 2 posts including this one lol. :yank:

Kicks the forum leader's ass? By spelling my name lagit1194?

Your posts were a bunch of gibberish. I was going to clean the thread up and then realized that almost all of your 200 posts were in this or the old Sniper thread. That tells me you're just a shit stirrer. You don't bring anything to this forum. So, it was easier to just delete all your posts from the Admin panel.

Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

Tyler, what were the reasons why Snipers wouldn't fit on your bike? Flange size? Motor size??? I know shearers fit like shit, but snipers wouldnt even fit on your bike period. I do realize these were based of a 421 motor, so that's why I'm not thinking too much of it.

The Snipers that Gary sent me had a DM flange but built around one of Jim and Gary's drag frames. The pipes mounted up to the motor and the hanger perfectly. The problem area was where the stingers met the expansion chambers. I would've had to do some pretty extensive modifications to get them to clear the frame rails and carbs. I could have done it but I am almost positive pipe performance would've been compromised.

AS far as my Shearer's go, I just cut and turn a piece by the flange area that makes them clear the frame rail easier. Also, I built the stingers on my 18DM so I made them to clear everything. I have tons of room up in there.

The BB Shearer's that I ran on my 10mm Cub, which are the ones on my Banshee now, had to be pried on and off with a pry bar. They hit the frame rails so bad that I would have to leave the motor loose, slide the pipes on and then snug everything up. Those things fit horribly.

Might get chewed for it, but last time that issue was brought up I remember Tyler was wanting pipes for the hybrid and he wasn't willing to chop the hell out of a pipe that nice when the shearers were already in need of a butcher.

Not even close. Just more second hand misinformation.

Why do people even post when they have no idea what they're talking about?

Nope

I took this from the Passion website.

"Standard models were specifically designed for high BMEP engines from 392cc-485cc. This is ABSOLUTELY "THE" CHEETAH CUB

PIPE OF ALL TIMES. We also designed pre-production alteration abilities to expand specific application capability's and engine

formats,so we can tune your pipes for your engine at a pre-production level. Never has this level of precision tuning been offered to

anyone that asks for it"
