mpd579
Did the 450 upgrade for the front end. A arms brakes spindles hubs shocks the whole nine yards. I ordered the tie rods and end for the grizzly (read it on the board) they are 12mm and +2 Look at the pics I now have a snow plow! I knew it would drop it a little but I’ve got 7inchs of ground clearance at the lowest spot. BTW that’s without me sitting on it. And the tie rods fit and work but they are threaded out 2 far IMO What have I done wrong and what to do now? I guess I need a +4 or maybe +3 tie rods for the 12mm ends. Can’t find em for my homemade setup though. Saw some guys running KFX450 and LTR 450 shocks. What do you all think? BTW please refrain from the “why the fuck didn’t you buy some aftermarket BANSHEE +2+1 set up” or don’t hell I deserve it. Yes I’ve learned my lesson I won’t do it again. This old pos does ride good now…..just don’t get anywhere near a rock or anything like that! I’ve got a set of works triple rate but they are a little bit shorter than the YFZ450 that are on it now. Why didnt you just buy Banshee stuff? Anyways you ran into what me and a lot of others have. You need at least a banshee +3 tie rod or an early yfz +1. And yes they sit annoyingly low in the front for not having any sag.

I thought with all that i read from the troubles and HOW TO's and what others had done wrong I could make it work. Boy was I bad off. Now I can't find the right tie rods cause I got the beefy 12mm ends I may just run these and hope it holds And the last kick in the nuts was my works triple rate shocks....when to put them on and Forgot Im a dumbass and I have YFZ450 a arms and the shock made for the banshee won't fit without some time on the grinder. Is it still monday??? Kaw shocks i guess is my next option
willardwright59
sitting on the jack stand I wish it looked like this w/o the stand ok from my past yfz converson, the shocks SUCK on a banshee with the 450 arms. u need a differnt shock which will help you alot. the 450 shocks are just to soft IMO but i weight 235lbs. but i think theyre only good for like a 145lb rider with stock banshee arms. Coupelx
Banshee shocks are far too short anyways. Also the later yfz's used the bigger tie rods.
tedd1
You can gain a little ride height by adjusting the preload. Screw the nuts on the springs down an inch or so. The shocks can use the extra stiffness because the geometry has changed a little with the banshee frame.
ginger
PM me if you want to sell your triple rates to offset some cost, im interested in them
mpd579
Sent some pm's I can't find banshee +3 tie rods to fit the 12mm ends I have now.
Starwriter
The rule on any type of threaded end is that you need 1 1/2 times the diameter, threaded into the tie rod. So, if the threads are 12mm, you need 18mm (about 3/4") screwed into the tie rod. Anything less than that could be unsafe.
thomas h.
I helped my brother do it and we made new lower mount to restore the ride hight. My Yfzshee has yfzr shocks 18.1/4 I thought they would have been better than Yfz shocks 14.1/2.
WINDYCITYJOHN400
Here is an idea....instead of throwing good money after bad. Stop now. Sell it all and get some stuff that was MADE for the Banshee.
mpd579
Might just trade this thing on a utv
