I'll be there August 14th - 18th or so. Staying @ Idaho Dunes RV. It is a long ride to the big stuff. I've run out of gas twice on the way back now.

The state place seems not much closer compared to IDDRV. If there is a place to trailer off and park that is closer I've love to know.

It's been a few years since I was there. But at that time on the far west end just south of the big stuff there was a whooped out trail that went straight south. It took you to a little clearing on both sides of a dirt road. The road ran east to west. I'd have to look at google maps to tell ya exactly but Id bet you could see it from there. There wasn't an official parking lot or anything but jere were several people parked there and one or two even camping. I assume it was legal?

Hey Shane where do you park when u ride there? You do the state area? What about that spot on the side of the road down on the west end? It'd be way closer to the big stuff I would think. No?

Dave, I almost always park at the lake when I ride. Yes, the cattle guard is 1 mile from the big stuff, however, I have never seen anyone camping there, and would probably not recommend it. Camping at Egin lake (state area) is the best way to go.
