willardwright59
think those cylinders could be ported a little better? kevin did a great job with the porting. he will be getting these back when it needs rebuilt because i want to go with a 4 mill crank. but the difference from a trail port to a dune port by kevin herr was just pure topend. its not that i think my bike is weak, i just want to make every bit of hp my motor will push with just some bolt-on changes, but still be able to trail ride. fastbanshee8
You don't seem to understand, that you are too the point with your motor, and "bolt on" parts, that adding anything else is going to take away from your bottom end. Bigger carbs, and in-frame pipes will usually lead to a loss of bottom end power. You cannot have everything, and you seem to have a problem understanding that. Trail riding, and drag racing are at two different ends of the spectrum. If you want to do both, buy another bike, and set it up for drag only. You are at the cross roads with your banshee, and you can't seem to realize that you either stop, go left, for trail riding, or go right, for drag racing. It's that simple, and you cannot do it all with one bike. Understand that? Edited July 5, 2012 by fastbanshee8

Understand that? i understand that u cant fucking read. as ive said a few times now. let me put it in caps so u can see it better I KNOW I WILL LOOSE BOTTOM END WHEN GOING TO LARGER CARBS AND INFRAME DRAG PIPES, BUT WHICH PIPES AND CARBS WILL KEEP THE LOSS TO A MINIMUM. IT WOULD BE TOTALLY FUCKING STUPID TO HAVE 48MM CARBS WITH OOF DRAG PIPES ON A TRAIL BIKE NOW WOULDNT IT? BUT 33PWK CARBS WITH SOME CPI INFRAME PIPES WOULD MAKE MORE SENCE! i mean its common sence, in no way, shape, or form do i plan on taking my bike to a drag stip and racing. by drag racing i mean i line up next to my buddys trx450 and we race from one end of my field-to the other, then go trail ride. im not fucking stupid. i asked a question i know someome can help me with. im going with shearer pipes and 33pwk carbs and 19cc domes on 110 race gas. thomas h.
Thought that it was established that the rev box / cdi doesn't make ur motor rev any higher. That maybe I'm just remembering somthing from Yakkey racing.
thomas h.
I forgot the ceramic or very low fiction wheel bearings
thomas h.
I'm not sure what product to use pipes and carbs but for a trail motor the idea of your mid range starting sooner and still getting good top end results in more total hp to the ground. Pipe builders have always been developing a high peak hp( shearer CPI Ect ) I bet that a good dyno guy could prove my point and recommend a good pipe that ramps up sooner and you my only lose 3 hp peak between 8k and 9k. willardwright59
Why did you even ask if you already knew what you wanted to do? i didnt know when i started this thread. shortly after starting it, kevin pmd me and told me shearer pipes would be best with my port job. then i also got some help from zillafreak on the first page. bluebanshee98
Shearers are great pipes I love them. You can't run the air box with the shearers. You have to use pods. However I have heard of people modding the air box (cutting the sides off ect) to make them fit. Not sure how great it looks ect because I went with pods. Also you may have the pipes be custom built to run the airbox. You will have to get in touch with him for better answers
possum
Hmmm another person with an HJR motor looking for more power out of the motor. (raincoat on) His bench is an assembly line!
RagunCajun
OP, you said HJR ported your juggs. That is the person who can best answer your questions. He knows what works and doesnt work with his port job. Call the guy and chat about your goals and work out a happy medium. Good luck sir. Mines a trail bike with a big emphasis on drag racing. If i had to do it all over again, i would of kept it a ported stock strong bike. Instead of me spending the money on going to a 4mil and cpi's, i could of kept my t6's or t5's(i had both), and put that money into suspension. Although i have yet to meet a stock swing arm 4 stroke that can beat me in a strait line. And as for post #28 and #29, ill keep that in mind. I've been out the scene for a bit.
