DirtDiggler69
So I got my top end back and I'm gonna rebuild this week end , the shop sent a note back saying to break in the motor mixed at 24:1 , for the 1st 3 tank fulls . Is this ok to do because I plan on running 40:1 like I always have after break in . Any opinions ?
Surfrjag
sure it will be fine
sheerider11
I don't agree with that. I was told break it in with the ratio your going to run. At 24:1 your actually running lean and your jetted for 40:1.
sheerider11
at 24:1 your rich... not lean... Oil displaces the gas
DirtDiggler69
I have always done the same , break it in at what you will be running it , So I think I'll split the difference and break it in at 32:1 and I know that my starting point for jetting is a bit rich so I shouldn't be lean .
