BLOODRAGE
just wondering with oof's if having silencers take away hp. i was goofing off with my shearer inframes without the silencers and the sound was fucking awesome so i might buy buddys oof's but they have the silencers on them,im just wondering if i took em off for a few runs if it will take away hp
fastbanshee8
For the most part, pipes with silencers will lose HP, if you take them off, because the pipes were designed to work best with the silencers on. A Banshee needs some back pressure. OOF's without silencers have stingers on them, or at least all of them that I've ever saw are that way. 10milmike
Just take to packing out.will not hurt shit. Just make it louder.
bansheesandrider
Why do you want to make your bike so loud that it PISSES EVERYBODY OFF around it. Unless it is a drag only bike that runs at an unrestricted track, you are just giving the tree huggers another reason to kick us off of more land. The only reason a bike will be faster without silencers is if the ENTIRE motor package was designed to run that way, otherwise it is just more noise. BLOODRAGE
bansheesandrider man all the fucken 4 pokes around here are loud,so why can i have a loud 2 stroke? what im saying is does the oof drag pipes produce more power i have the itch for more hp and would like to get more out of my ss in a cheap way

WINDYCITYJOHN400
You want more power to the ground?.....ditch those heavy 4-stroke style rims.

BUILDER
so in truth you guys dont know.what a joke Why is it a joke that people do not know the answer to every question that you ask?? You will not notice enough hp differance with or without the silencers on the bike to change anything. They do need some kind of back pressure but believe me the 1/2 hp it is going to change it either way is not something you are going to notice on a bike like yours that is not setup as light as it can possibly be for total drag. There does that answer your question?
Wildcardracing
The pipes need to have a certain lenth of stinger pipe to create the propper back pressure. But, yes unsilenced do build more power if properly designed (power difference is so slight you won't be able to tell riding it). As for your question on oof vs inframe, your engine package needs to be designed around whichever pipe you prefer to run. Oof's are capable of more peak power if the engine setup is properly designed for them. But, oof's are more prone to breaking than inframes. And, in reply to the guy who says you can just remove the packing and it won't make a difference: As stated above, a certain level of backpressure needs to be maintained to achieve peak performance. Burnt out or removed packing will hurt your perfomance some.
Coupelx
so in truth you guys dont know.what a joke I as well as some others do but in short, leave the silencers on it. Otherwise join the Tyler Clark fan club and just run stingers.
locogato11283
This question is really kind of dumb, hence the silly answers. YES, there is a clear advantage to running out-frame pipes to produce the most power. This is why you see all the drag racers doing it. IF in-frame silenced pipes made the most power, that's what those guys would use. As far as in-frames with no silencers, that's what I run on both of my bikes. They will produce the most peak HP for my setups. They are also closer to an out-frame drag pipe setup than your typical in-frame silenced setups.
