RACxEMxWILLIE
I have this problem, I took my carb off yesterday to clean it. After i finished and got the carb back on, the slide with the needle that sits directly on top of the carb is getting stuck when i push the throttle. Any ideas as to why its doing this. It was working fine before but now it won't return the slide back down. The spring and cable are fine. Just curious as to why its doing this. Any suggestions or explanations would be helpful. bansheesandrider
Did the needle get damaged while it was out?
DirtDiggler69
Stock carb slides aren't interchangeable , there is a specific right and left and it won't work right or run right if they get swapped . Pull the slides out and yeah clean them really well , do you have the TORS delete installed? Did you pull out the idle screw and see If there's any burrs left behind from the threading ? RACxEMxWILLIE
Yeah I'm sure i have the right one installed. I have to the 2 to 1 keihin. That needle is a bitch to put in. Thing about that is that I didn't use and force taking it out or putting it back in. Is there any type of oil you could use to kind of help it. Im gonna use carb cleaner and something to kind of it up.

RACxEMxWILLIE
Did the needle get damaged while it was out? No I just went to check it. It just sat on the exhaust pipe with absolutely no pressure on it.
RACxEMxWILLIE
I can look right through the air box and push the throttle and see that its sticking halfway when you release it. It almost seems like the spring on the cable is not pushing the slide back down hard enough. Im starting to wonder if its the cable? Do i need to back the idle screw out 1 and 1/2 turns?
