01shee350
this is starting to irritate me so bad, im running 270 mains and doing 1 6th gear pull and doing a plug chop and the lil ring is still a tad bit dark, should i go 260's? everyone else i know in my area who has banshees that are running the same setup minus they have t5's instead of fmf's and are running 280+ mains. and it seems like when i pull the choke out one click it has more mid. my needle is 4th clip(richer). what should i do, go leaner? temp around here is 80-110 15% humidity 2000 elevation. mods in sig. any help guys? thomas h.
How is the leak down? If you have a small vaccum leak you might be compensating for it.
Strm Trpr
But how fat is the ring? 2mm or. 080" thk is all. You say the needle clip is on the 4th groove (richer), where is clip with respect to the middle groove? Pulling the choke out 1 click and the motor feels better in the mid-range would indicate shee needs more fuel, not less.
special06shee
make sure your pods are cleaned and properly oiled! ive seen a lot of people try to tune in a bike and they never bother to make sure the air cleaner/pods are clean or properly oiled! a shitted up air cleaner will mess with the air flow there for mess with the jetting! with that said.. all bikes are different! just because little johnys running a certain jet size, it does not mean that is what you will be running, it should be fairly close tho if both bikes have the same modds! With a vacuum leak wouldn't it be running lean? Leak down test is good lost a little less than half a pound in 6 minutes

thomas h.
With a vacuum leak wouldn't it be running lean? Leak down test is good lost a little less than half a pound in 6 minutes In diffrent rpms the leak will get worst. But you tested it and that's is not the issue. But if you have a small leak( lean) then go up to 270 or 280 because of the leak. Some leaks show up when the engine is hot. Yours tested good so I would check other areas. thomas h.
Oops I reread your post. Can. You tell if the needle is stock? When you said the bikpipes smoke after wot for ten seconds I thinks that the pipe are super hot and it is burning up some oil resadue inside the pipes and the idle exhaust is coing the pipes down. If the needle and seat was an issue it will over flow more often. Is 115 low for a new rebuild at 2000 elevation. I would expect 130 at sea level. FullThrottle_06'
I had something similar to the issure that your experienceing when I first picked up my bike but I came to find that I had more problems that I was aware of. Before my bike took a shit I ordered a dyna-jet Jet Kit that came with different needles. I spoke with a shop in Tulsa (not passion FYI) that suggested that I pick up that jet kit up because it had longer needles and a small veriety of jets that I needed because I was running a stock cyl, stock port with FMF's and pods. I live in east central Oklahoma elev.660ish and I put those new needles in and stepped up to a 330 main and BAM! The bitch ran great until I came across another problem that led me to tear the entire motor down. I don't know if this will help you but that is what I experienced with my setup. Good luck
vulvafan537240
sounds like its lean to me. did you do a proper plug chop with new plugs on a warmed up motor and immediately kill it and chop the plugs?
