Recommended Posts

  • 1 year later...

I have made a few changes and would like to know what pilot, main jets and needle clip position to use now.

Currently starts one kick cold and takes lots of kicks when warm.

Wiseco Pistons - Bored 20 over

Wiseco Crank

Coolhead - 21 Domes (Run Race Gas, 40:1ish)

Billet propeller

Oversize Radiator

Adjustable CDI Box - +4 on timing

V-Force 4 Reeds and cages

FMF Fatty's and Turbine 2 Silencers

Stock Carbs - TORS removed

Stock air box - Snorkel Removed

K&N Air filter

Elevation is 700 ft above sea level
Typical riding temp of 70-80 degrees

What size propeller u running?

Lol

If i had to guess it would be 30 pilot ( because of pipes and vf4's fmf pipes alone call for 30s on thier site) 270 or 280 mains(would be higher but lid on air box is still on minus snorkle) clip 3rd position.

Dont need race fuel with 21cc domes at 700ft ASL its of no benefit except better smelling and cost quite a bit more $$. What was your compression at ?

Impeller**

If I was to remove the Lid what size mains? Clip Position change any if lid is removed?

I'm not sure what my compression is at now. Just rebuilt and in the process of putting back together with the above items.

Make sure you do a leak down test and compression test before running it. I do this again after break in and re-torque everything. can never be too carefull and usually compression increases a little after break in.

assuming you have no porting done since it wasn't listed? With no lid at all your looking at 300 to 310. 30 pilot and 3rd clip position should still be correct.

uman im going to say you were correct at 280- 290 but with lid off. i think 280 with lid on would be to rich i would think lid on 260-270 but thats my opinion

my recommendation was 270-280 and that was because he said snorkel removed or it would be 260-270 as u said.
