Full Frame Swap

Recommended Posts

Let me explain, i just bought a 03 banshee from a guy who didn't exactly take care of it. Engine runs fantastic, but cosmetically, it looks horrible. The foot peg bolt holes have been completely de-threaded and ruined thanks to his half-assed effort in putting on the nerd bars. The air box lid was removed and the rear coolant reservoir is zip-tied down. There a few other half assed rigs as well. What i was thinking doing, is buying a full bare frame and swap over everything from this one. I found a website with all of the OEM bolts and such, but i was wondering if it worth doing it. If anyone has ever done this, let me know how the experience worked. Thanks.

I second that , just strip it down and start with the frame . Repair any stripped threads , clean it , PC it and start putting it back together . What you will pay for a roller will equal what the PC will cost you . And odds are you won't like what your roller looks like either .

I have a custom set up for stripped out pegs. Just cut out old material , insert new plugs , weld in place and your good to go. Works perfect.

Tick Tock ( Adam) was nice enough to make two sets for me.

Work with what you have, a couple of stripped bolts ain't a big deal. You'll save money and know that you really did build it from the ground up.

Yeah but the more i get in depth with this thing the more i find i need to fix. Mechanically, the quad is a beast. It will fly. Its just the halfassed job the guy did cosmetically that pisses me off, especially swapping the plastics.
