Advice on reeds boost jetting and TORS Eliminator kit

Ill start off by saying im new to the banshee world but bought one yesterday and after a good hour and a half of riding im addicted. I bought it off craigslist and the main sell point to me was the top end had been rebuilt with only 4 hrs on the machine since the rebuild. Didnt care for whatever other problems as i also want this to be a project bike. I was able to pull the thing apart all the way to the intake manifold so the air filter, carbs, tors, reeds, gas tank, and spark plugs are all out. Now its time for the fun stuff. Id like to get some advice on what reeds to get, what kind of jetting set up to use, and what would be the best eliminator kit available. It is a 2000 banshee and as far as i know the only mods were the rebuilding of the top end and full pro circuit exhaust. Id like to start ordering as soon as possible so hopefully i can get some quick help. And 1 more thing. I noticed after the ride that the right side pipe was letting off more smoke then the left so i let it cool down for a bit. After a good hour of letting it cool down i started it back up again and same thing happened while the right side exhaust was hot as hells ass the left exhaust was cool to touch. A friend advised me to check the sliders and make sure they were synced so as i pulled everything apart i checked it out. They were both in perfect sync so if anyone has any other ideas let me know. I cant wait to get this thing running again.

If it has a boost bottle get rid of it, and for the carbs you have a easier time tuning and get more performance out of pwk 28s in most cases, if your on a budget get the okos off ebay.

Its also recommended that you get a billet water pump impeller and a pancake bearing and when your in there you might as well get a steel idler gear bushing from fast.

check out the sponsors for your parts.

You should do a compression test on the motor and get a leak down tester somebody on here sells them or you can make your own, also buy a clymers manual.

And you should learn how to use the sites search feature for your more simpler questions.

Welcome to BHQ  :

Try swapping the plug wires and see if the smoking issue swaps sides. If that doesn't work try a compression test (you should do this anyway). Then if that checks out clean your carbs. Don't just spray carb cleaner on parts and think its clean. Use swabs, compressed air, etc. I'd also check your reeds and mske sure they are sitting flush. 95% of the times one of the things I mentioned will fix your problem. For reeds I'd go vforce if you have the cash or boysen. TORS eliminator kit can be found on F.A.S.T. or rockymountanatv. I have a motion pro one from rockymountanatv, and it works well. Just make sure you get an idle kit with the TORS eliminator kit, otherwise you'll have no way to adjust your idle. Sorry for any typos, I'm on my phone

Sounds like one side isn't firing. Check the idle screws, jets, choke tube, compression, plug caps and get a clymers and down load the service manual. Reeds I like my v force, jetting you have to check. Pipes elevation temp and air flow all play a part in that.

Got around to doing the compression test and they measured 125 on the left 123 on the right...looks like im golden but had one more question..with the v force reeds being put in and the already installed pro circuit exhaust would it be a good idea leaving the main jets as is or go with 280??
