Buying a used Banshee

Recommended Posts

Just found another one that is 2800 and has "a fresh rebuilt top end and bored .30 over. There are a few mods on this ATV including and orange powder coated frame, upgraded suspension (adjustable upper and lower control arms), upgraded axle (lonestar), good tires and no to mention it is VERY FAST and will start on the FIRST KICK!!!! I don't want to get rid of it but my wife complains about it taking up garage space." This is straight from his post about his quad. Im thinking either this one or the one with the raptor body. Also, how much does an OEM banshee plastic kit usually run at?

I have blue plastics i can sell you. But get pics up of the other one. It took me 3 months to find my banshee. I went through about 7 people. I've walked away from some really clean bikes. For some reason people think they are sitting on gold with these bikes.

suspension upgrades are a good thing, especially on a banshee, first kick is a good thing but you should check the compression anyway when you go see it, he could have ran it for an hour before you got there you never know.

and as far as plastics go use the search function to check what has sold here to get an idea on what you'll get for your money

Oh and GO THUNDER :headbang:

Yeah i don't know why all the prices are so damn high. But this quad looks very clean. Honestly i don't have the compression tool to check it. But these m-effers are getting scarce in GA thats why i was thinking that in the 2-3k price range was decent. Im now honestly leaning toward the shee with the raptor clip even though its ugly as hell.

I paid 1700 for mine with fmf pipes. Stockers usually sell for around 1500-2000 depending on year and condition. But if they got decent motor work can't find them less than 2500. And yes they're selling. At least in cali, vegas, utah. But be careful don't buy any bike without a compession check. Check fluids make sure its decently clean and make sure they use coolant not just water in the radiator. Check for frame damage. Bald tires, leaking fluid, suspension hasn't been greased since new, filter very dirty are usually signs of neglect.

Also if it has internal motor work or porting ask for receipts. If you never rode a banshee you will never know if its ported or not, timing stock or timing plate, stroked or stock. In my opinion everyone is out to screw you over when selling a Wheeler that sounds to good to be true. Anything for a sale.
