anyone have info in shaving stock Carbs ?

Hi guys I am just doing mods on my shee and wanted to get new carbs. I heard some where about being able to shave your stock carbs do you guys have any info or comments about that. My shee is a 2001 slight port and polish, shaved head, true and weld crank, advanced timing, t5 pipes, stage 3 clutch let me know what you think out what my best Carb would be if shaving stock ones are not a good idea. Thank you.

There are site sponsers who can open your carbs up. SHOULD be done on a lathe. Not sure how much you can take out of the stockers but I'm pretty sure you can at least goi to 28mm. Shouldnt have any problems with the stockers on your quad.

ive done a few sets. straight bore to 28mm is easiest and takes less time, but ive also done a tapered bore where they start at 28mm and by the time they are into the intake, they are 30mm. works great. jordan dahl has 2 of the sets i straight bored to 28mm.

What do you recommend straight bore 28 Mm our tapered 28 to 30 MN ? can you tell a difference from shaved carbs and non shaved carbs?

They look great too. I sold both sets I got from Willard and both people like them a lot so far and they seem to pull better up top then the stock 26mm. I didn't notice a loss on the bottom end while I was jetting it for them so I wouldn't worry much about that low end loss.

Like zilla said that is backwards. You want to get a venturi effect.
