Draining Fuel

And you don't really want to run your carbs dry.

You have any reasoning behind that statement? Been doing it since my dad started teaching me at 3 and never had an issue.

when the carbs sit dry sometimes the gaskets to the bowls dry and crack on you. i dunno if this is a problem with banshees but some of the older bikes it used to happen to. i never had a issue on the banshee tho

and yes the cases have a drain in them, open the bowl drain and let it drain

Hmm, never heard of that. I would think that would have more to do with the environment and the elements as far as moisture/humidity, desert, shit like that, and for sitting too long maybe.

Thanks guys i didnt think you wanted to run it dry because it created a lean condition right before it dies. I might just pull the carbs anyways. Good to know the cases have a drain cause when i wash it i try to tip it sideways.

exactly, If u run it lean there is not the lub u need to keep the cylinders flowing as freely as they should be. The result is to much friction and a stuck ring or worse

Idling the motor until it runs out of fuel is not going to hurt anything.

Ever ride off and forget to turn your fuel on?

I thought so.

By emptying the float bowls before storing the bike you remove unwanted wear on the needle valve viton tip.
