banseefun
My '01 banshee shoots a blue flame out the right exhause about 4-5 inches. The guy I bought it from hard the top end torn apart do to a busted piston so I have no idea how it ran before. I replaced the whole top end and bearings in the bottom end. The cylinders looks fine and checked out to be standard. I replaced the needle and seat in the carbs also since they wouldn't seal off. It's hard to start, won't idle figure the carbs need adjusted but afraid to let it run to long with the flame shooting out the one side. This is my first 2 stroke so I don't know much about them. banseefun
Have to ask loco or maybe a mod. I've never heard of a banshee shooting flames Was suppose to take it into Sandtrax here in town tomorrow but he's over books so got to check back with him tuesday. I would have never noticed it had I not be out about to go riding after dark at Little Sahara here in Oklahoma. Thought if anyone had any ideas I'd try messing with it myself some more. Just in over my head now with it.

erickson483
What exhaust system are you running? Is there any chance you saw sparks and not a flame?

banseefun
What exhaust system are you running? Is there any chance you saw sparks and not a flame? Back half FMF and front half Paul Turner.
Jereme6655
mods? elevation? current jetting? TORS still connected? also do you have the choke tube in place between the two carbs? i've seen this before.....happened to my buddies bike. pulled his carbs and cleaned the hell out of them.....then tried jetting and everything else.......nothing changed it. Finally he ordered a used set of stock carbs. Threw those on and it solved the problem.....so somewhere internally in his old carbs there was something wrong. Was told it was bone stock when I bought it other then the exhaust which is half paul turner and half fmf. I was out in the Oklahoma panhandle with is around 2500-3000 ft above sea level. Still have the TORS on it and connected and looks like a regular vacuum hose for the choke tube. I did replace the seat and needle since they wouldn't seal off. Glad I'm not the only that has had this problem.
Jereme6655
You do a leakdown test after you rebuilt the top end?

sheerider11
That's usually a lean condition if it's poping and shooting blue flames.
