Yes the seem in the cases is your point indicator, Turn your timing plate until you get the desired amount of timing lined up with the case seem and tighten your plate back down. Couple that with the fact that billet units are very inexpensive. If you go aftermarket it makes no sense to not go with a billet plate. But you can just drill out your stocker which is free!
