4 cylinder shees

Recommended Posts

There are 2 running, one in parts, and cases around to build 2 more. Ive been around, worked on, and messed with one of them quite a bit. I can tell you from first hand experience that they take a HUGE amount of cash and knowledge to run them.

could you tell a lot more about them? total cc's? hp? the crank? maybe some pics?

Damn that would be straight death, I would even attempt to ride a quad with that much power. Holy Shit Batman

the one i seen was 3800cc with a 82mm stroke pushing almost 950hp on motor

Mailman has a crazy cool Triple that he's posted a lot of info on in the video section........it's rippin fast on the hill and pushing over 150HP on a conservative dyno.

I am still trying to fine tune this beast but here is where I am at so far.

It is 2 cylinders cut and welded to make one triple. The cases are the same way. The work is so clean that you would have to get really close up pics to see it.

This motor/bike was build in 2002 to 2003 at the peak of banshee wars when all the big hitters were looking for some dominant hill shooter. There were no billet or cast triples available at the time so this setup was made. Eric at White Knuckle did the cylinder, porting, etc. and Louie at Twister made the crank and and cases for it. It is a Sandragon chasis. All of these places are out of Oregon.

The bike was originally built for and owned by Mike Riggs. I bought it from him last summer and have been working the bugs out of it. Pistons for the Trex are no longer available so people are forced to switch to another style piston like the H2. I switched this over to the 721 series Wiseco pistons which are not flat tops. These pistons are readily available and work very well. I had Jerry Hall recut the domes to match the new pistons and get the CR to 15:1

I like the videos with music but I know what you mean about wanting to hear the motor. We try to analyze the runs with the raw footage which is helpful.

I am just having fun with the bike and enjoying the rush. Obviously there are many triple cylinder options available today and my 837cc triple is most likely the smallest triple out there but it is more than enough for me.

Riggs had it dynoed at 170 HP. I threw it on a very stingy dyno that reads lower than Dougs at D&M and didn't tune on it or gear it for the atv dyno and it hit 150 HP with 107 lbs of torque. One must gear the bigger motors really high to get the pipe temps up so the motor makes max power on atv dynoes. The power is there. I just have to grow a bigger set to be able to pin it and hang on. LOL

The bike hit 94 mph up Sand Mountain with Riggs on it and 96 mph with Cameron on it from Redline. This was back in 04/05.

some more
