Recommended Posts

ok, heres the situation: my bosses son got a 2008 yfz450. completey stock. he said the following to me today "it did 140mph up hill in 3rd gear, no quad is faster ill dust you" the guy is 32yrs old and rides like a blind 6yr old. my banshee has the following mods: hjr dune port, coolhead 20cc domes, pro lite pistons, cylinders bored to 65mm, +5 timing, vf3 reeds, 28mm carbs, drilled air box, no lid, pro flow filter and adapter, 15/41 gearing, lightened flywheel, and im a good rider.

who do you guys think will winn??

I think you both should play chicken and see who wins.

Roost his ass and piss on his seat ...

My riding buddy has a brand new YFZ 450 , piped and chipped , power commander and it won't get even close to 140 mph . Make a fool out of this 4 poker and laugh in his face .

I am far from a seasoned rider, especially when it comes to drag racing. I'm notorious for coughing on the launch basically new to quads, so with all that being said I just raced some 450's and some funny looking kiwi dirt bikes bout three weeks ago maybe longer but I gave those guys hell..!! My bike isnt nearly as modded as yours and I weigh more than a 1/2 ton truck. I spanked on them pretty good. BTW I did get vides. 2 stroke humor.

Do you seriously need to ask?

You should be in the 70's for HP depending on your pipes. This guy has ZERO chance. :yank:

You could kill it on the launch, re-kickstart it and still win.

He couldn't do 140 MPH going DOWN the hill.

Too bad you work for his dad........otherwise I'd say put as much money on that race as you can.

Not going to see 70 with that setup. 65 is more like it.

Sofa King We Todd Did :jesterlaugh:

And if I'm not mistaken I think something can only fall at 132MPH, terminal velocity.

http://hyperphysics....se/airfri2.html

I was wrong, skydiver can reach 134 :whoa:

terminal velocity varies depending on the object. air drag plays a huge role on this.

See, you're both wrong. Gravity only affects things moving downward. Note, he said the guy was going UP the hill, therefore bypassing gravity all together. unsure.gif

Was probably also in a vacuum running an iridium plug. (No oxygen required.)

My banshee goes 140mph in reverse.

Sorry, thought he had a +4 crank......Ok a solid 65 with the right pipe. I'm making 63 with the wife's 370 with the same mods and FMF 's.

Either way.....unless someone is totally drinking the YFZ cool-ade. I think that 60+ HP will be enough to do the job.

Now a fully modded 500+ YFZ can hit the 60's and then you would have a race!

But a fully modded 500+ it is not......

To even question this is simply retarded- Bone stock bike wont have a chance and you are supporting a decent amount of mods.

The dude sounds like a clown, so do just that and clown him- BUT make sure you video it and post up so we can watch it.

You my friend are straight talking out of your ass, I don't like going down this road but Im going for it. You can tell me you have owned every bike under the sun- I DONT CARE- Fact, you cant sleep on the new 450's bc they move out.

I just recently sold my 08 YFZ450 which only had a few basic bolt on- DRD full exhaust- KN air filter- cam mod- zip tie mod and YZ needle, Cant come on here bullshitting or you just ride with a bunch of busta's.

I abused piped and mild ported banshee with that YFZ- it was sorta beastly for what it was. And there are plenty of people on this site that can vouch for that.

" A banshee with pipes and filter will beat any 450 made" Thats one ridiculous statement.

Wish your DG piped shee was around my way- I would have gladly given you 2-3 bike lead and ruined your day. Maybe that would have changed you opinion on the new 450's

Sorry, but your post it just ignorant.

Joe

Well you chose to go down this road so I will tell you like it is. Im guessing you did not read the thread title.... Read it again and get back to me... No wait i will type it for you because I am sure you dont know how to go back and read it. Dune port banshee vs stock yfz450 drag race... I realize you just wanted to be a smart ass and argue apples and oranges instead of apples and apples.

I was talking about 450s i had that ran great. My banshee beat everyone of them i have several people on here that were around and can verify that.

But getting on a forum and telling a guy he is talking out of his ass when he is talking about stuff he owned is actually the dumbest fucking thing i have ever read on the internet.

Why would i get on here and lie about my banshee beating my own fucking quad. I have owned a ton of quads i have rode since i was a kid. I dont get on here to post up bullshit. I get on here because alot of these guys have helped me with my project.

My bike is the same way motorwise it was when i had my yfz and ltr.... WITH THE EXCEPTION of my coolhead and pipes. I wish you still had your yfz 450 because we are on a public forum... I would get you to bet whatever you make in a year that you couldnt spot me 3 bike lengths and beat me. I really dont appreciate you calling my post ignorant when i am talking about my own stuff.

Sorry but you are an idiot for your post.

Rodney
