Want to put a sled motor in Banshee frame.

Recommended Posts

Ok I have everything to put together a rolling chassis and I've always wanted to do a sled motor in a shee for drags and plus I have a friend that has some nerve damage in his leg and he can't shift up so i though thata would be perfect for him too if he wants to join us at the dunes.

I've been searching for info, best motor, best way, tips etc, but can't find anything.

Anyone have any suggestions or know where to look?

unless you are really handy with metal fabrication, welding, snomo clutch set ups, jack shafts. i would suggest an air shifter for your friend. 90% of conversion quads end up on craigslist unfinished project. it seems simple enough to slap a streetbike motor or snomo motor in an atv frame. it is not.

You build a snomo bike for your buddy and the only thing he is going to be able to do is race. They are heavy as hell. It has been done a million times and it does work but they are ugly and heavy. The pingel air shifter works very well. I just saw a quad at Redline on friday that has one on it. The lady has a really screwed up ankle and she rides a yfz450 with a air shifter on it.

ive seen some nice snomo banshees and a really nice snomo raptor not in person only in vids but it looks like a serious project....also not to jack your thread but i am curious as to how well and accurate the air shifters are on banshees is it kit specific or do they have to custom fab.
