Phelps
by "cleaned the carbs" did you mean you took both pilot and main out and visually inspected them to make sure they were clear? sitting usually clogs the jets and by using the choke you are adding fuel that the jets cant supply. backfiring can also in tale stuck rings from sitting. or lack of combustion. seen a lot of bikes hang rings after sitting a long time. Larry's Shee
If you changed nothing you don't need bigger jets, yoe need cleaner carbs. A quick douche with carb spray isn't cleaning them. I would suggest a can of http://www.berrymanproducts.com//Portals/0/images/0996.jpg. Make sure you pull the pilot jet. Do not soak any plastic or rubber. FAIL try this http://berrymanproducts.com/Products/PartCleanersandDegreasers.aspx carb dip Edited May 18, 2012 by Larry's Shee

ban565
Did you make sure the pilot was clean? I had the same problem and it turned the pilot jets were plugged.

Was thinking maybe go all out replace reeds floats, jet it with new pipes etc You have to remove pilots also. I still think you need to soak the carbs. Just like rotten pussy, sometimes a quick douche don't fix it . From the sounds of it, until you can make a stocker run, you don't need to start modding Did you make sure the pilot was clean? I had the same problem and it turned the pilot jets were plugged. There are little holes on the side of jet that need to be open also
