Judge1
Sorry if this has been asked a million times already. Is there any difference in the oem stators by year? My f ing bike will not start and I am at the point of throwing parts at it. Everything is new or freshly rebuilt and no it is not a carb issue. I thought I had it figured out with the flywheel being broken but no dice. It gets spark and will briefly fire with new plugs and then die. I am thinking the stator is taking a shit. The stator and cdi are the only things left to replace. I am going to suck it up and buy a new oem one. Are they all the same by year? bansheesandrider
Stator are the same from 1987-1994 and from 1995-on. And the only difference between the two is the plug on the wires. You need to ohm the stator and if it checks OK I would go with the CDI box first. See if you can borrow one from a friend to see if it will run.
