carb problem

Recommended Posts

My banshee seemed to have a high idle and i went to see if the slides were bottoming out or not. They were not clicking when letting go of the throttle so i decided to adjust the tops so that the slides would bottom out. Now it will start but will not stay idling on its own unless its choked... The previous owner took off the T.O.R.S units but I know when you do this you are supposed to drill holes and install idle screws or something? I am not sure about that but think that may be my problem. There are no idle adjusting screws and the only way I can get it to idle perfect is if I lift up the slides a tiny bit... Can anyone help and tell me if I should buy idle screws or if its allright if I have the slides slightly up higher a tiny bit. Thanks!

You will need some idle screws to keep the carbs at a consistent idle. The cables will work but will never be consistent and will cause you problems.

I think I just received a set with my rebuild kit I got because there was one set of screws that did not fit anyehwere on the carbs... Do I just need the screws or anything else? And do I have to drill holes?

Yea you have to drill and tap the holes,,first you have to file the edge flat on the carbs where the screws go in. And yo need to make sure you use the right tap or else you will be SOL when you try to put the screws in. You can google it and im sure there are some drawings you can view with detailed instructions, because this is a very popular mod.

Just get this and you'll be on your way

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=380439761448&index=4&nav=SEARCH&nid=98625293944

Then do this and you'll have an idling banshee

If the first link doesn't work just search eBay for "banshee motion pro idle kit"
