nihilism
I'm not preaching but wearing steel toe hiking boots is how i broke my foot in 3 places, my leg, and tore up my ankle. After that I always wear my boots if im jumping or racing. I used to wear half boots when my buddies and i all had pit bikes, never on a quad but they are a lot easier to shift with but obviously do not have the ankle/lower leg protection of a full boot. It all comes down to what kind of riding you are doing. I'm gonna try moving my shifter up a cog too and see how it works thanks for the idea. gwinnraptor
I took mine out and got them good and wet and wore them a bit on a warm day. Sure its not comfortable at all with warm wet boots on.....but they will break in and be 300 times better after that. After they break in its very easy to shift....mine feel very similar to riding with tennis shoes on.

Dahl87banshee
I wouldn't mind it to feel like that but fuck wearing wet boots It's worth it in the end. I couldn't stand my boots when i first got them. A day of walking around with wet nasty boots and they felt good after that.

sheerider11
Like I said. Soak them in hot hater or steam them. Fastest way to break in those type of boots. That sounds a lot better. I'm def looking into the steam. They feel like ski boots. I either shift with my hip or lift my leg. Not good.
twistingixxers
Sheerider, I know this is a little off topic but sorta along the same lines....I am having the same problem but its with the rear brake especially when I practice doing a wheelies, its like the rear brake needs to be up an inch but you don't have the same adjustment for the rear brake like you have for the shifter. Once again sorry if I am not following the proper thread etiquette.

DirtDiggler69
I spent a day walking in my new boots when I bought them , that helped with the overall flexibility of them , I also moved my shifter up 2 notches and it seemed to be the sweet spot. Nightmare
Never heard of that. I'll have to look into that. And as far as the half boot I've only seen them for moto gp guys IT WORKS, ive done that to a couple of pairs and they fit like normal boots

sheerider11
Wouldn't go as far as saying I fucked up but note taken.. I was kidding. But on the cylinder there is a nut with a rod looking thing to the pedal, move it til you get it where you want. Its easy.
locogato11283
The shifter needs to be up higher with riding boots on.. Also, the more you wear your riding boots, the more you will break them in. Here are some shots of how high my shifter are..
sheerider11
Oh shit, I didn't realize how high it has to be set. I guess this week end I'll try to find my sweet spot.
