bball23
Hey all I just rebuilt my carbs yesterday because they were leaking from overflow and theres no leak but it wont start now. I rebuild the topend 3 weeks ago and it was running mint and jetted perfect. Now when I put them back on the quad today it started up and idled for a couple mins and then shut off. I tried kicking it again and got nothing. Im pretty sure I did everything right and am stumped on what the problem is... The choke tube is there and everything looks good. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I get nothing ill just try to put it back together with the old parts and see if that will work... Larry's Shee
check for loose or bare wire. Have you checked for spark?
bball23
yes I checked the plugs and there is spark in both. It has to be the the carbs since it was perfect and started first kick before i rebuilt them...
Larry's Shee
Was thinking a wire might have got bumped then finished off when running. Try rapping float bowls with screwdriver handle, they might just be hung up. Check fuel flow from petcock

Try rapping float bowls with screwdriver handle, they might just be hung up. Check fuel flow from petcock Ill try that tomorrow and will let you know. It might be hung up because it has new plungers so they might be stuck...
yzrmbsg
It sounds like you let it idle.... And while idling, you fouled your plugs. Swap em out for new ones and see what happens. Could just be flooded and you need to let it sit for a bit and evaporate. If that doesnt work, check the simple stuff, both key and kill switch on? Gas in it and on? Choke stuck on/off? Pull the carbs back off and make sure you put them back together correctly. Good luck! Sent using Tapatalk!

sheerider11
Pull the bowls off and throw the carbs back on. That'll guarantee your getting fuel to them. You did something wrong. You can take apart and rebuild these things all you want. If you do it wrong every time you won't get anywhere. Are they stock carbs?
