007banshee
Hey guys. Complete rebuild on bike. Currently waiting for JL swinger and Fireball AArms to come in. Rode bike last week and it was fouling plugs. Here's my setup. Not sure if its airscrew or needle that needs adjustment. -Stock Head/cylinders bored. 30over -+4 timing -BR8ES plugs gapped .07 -900ft elevation at 55-65° -Stock carbs TORS removed -27.5 pilots Fatties/PC 2s -320 mains -1.5 airscrew -Uni Pods with outerwears -Clip 1 below middle. Needle has 6 notches? What brand? -32:1 oil mix with yamahlube. Did a plug chop before i took swinger and arms off. Only got to 4th wot and ran out of field. 2mm of grey line at bottom of porcelain. I will post picture's saturday of plugs. My top end seems lean if the plug is grey, not sure if i held it long enough tho. But i i cant get plugs to last a full tank, and i try to stay on it pretty hard,as it is a 2 stroke. Leakdown test was good and compression is about 125 on both. Running 93 octane also. Just not sure where to start if anyone can give me suggestions that would be awesome. Thanks! Nick
VoOK
32:1 may be too much. I'm not too keen on jetting, sorry. Edited May 9, 2012 by VoOK
007banshee
Plugs are a little wet. Not drenched but wet. One plugs ring is thicker then the other, cant remember what plug was in which cylinder. Ill go up a clip and report back. Might be a week or two, but ill get pics and try another chop until then. WINDYCITYJOHN400
Well....with it being a fresh rebuild....could it just be crazy wet with assembly oil? I oil every moving part before it goes together, so it's got ALOT of oil in it when it first fires up. I'll sometimes foul a plug while I'm breaking in the motor or in the first 1/2 hour of riding. Or are you talking after a number of hours of riding?
007banshee
I lube everything pretty good too but it has probably 5-10 hours on it.
007banshee
Heres a pic of my plugs guys, what causes one to have a thicker ring than the other? They are more grey, no real brown. Where do you think im at? Thanks!
