sheerider11
So when I try to adjust the clutch I can see it go crooked when I pull in the lever. If I adjust the pancake bearing in to get the pressure plate to start to back off I can get a feeler gauge in on one side and not the other. I just put in a new basket, hub and pressure plate. A fast clutch with 3 of there springs and 3 OEM.
dave5.0
I usually adjust the pancake till the arm on top is somewhere near the little arrow. But u can pretty well do whatever with it to get your adjustment where u need it. If everything is set up right I don't think it'll make any difference with the clutch pack where you adjust the pancake it'll just move the clutch arm. BigRed350x
You sure you alternated springs? Oem, heavy, oem, heavy, etc? Once its rotating the centrifugal force may help even it out a bit.
dave5.0
Looks like I read that wrong. Sorry. Not sure wtf I was thinking
Finch
sure all the spring bolts are at the same trq?
sheerider11
sure all the spring bolts are at the same trq? I alternated them double checked then checked again. I'm gonna wait for the snap on guy to come on Friday to recalibrate my torque wrench but I feel its accurate. Been in the case never dropped it but I'll double check that as well. Big red that makes sense about the spinning forces. Its about 10- 12 thousandth difference so I don't know if I'm being over cautious, but better safe then sorry. Thanks for the input

Thanks for the input Did your fast clutch come with 6 new spring? I also recently in stalled a FAST clutch, and Jeff from FAST told me not to stagger the springs. Run all 6 springs that came with the clutch kit.

sheerider11
Warped pressure plate? Brand new from Jeff. That's what took out my clutch the first time stop that's why I'm a little concerned.
moledigger
What shift lever and perch are you using? May not give enough throw on the cable or you cable is streached.

I went back to a factory perch and lever for that reason and a new cable.
moledigger
Is the pancake threaded rod all the way in so there is no room for the locknut when linimg up the arrow?
sheerider11
Is the pancake threaded rod all the way in so there is no room for the locknut when linimg up the arrow? No that happened so I used the longer one they gave me.
moledigger
No that happened so I used the longer one they gave me. How many threads are sticking out if more that a couple the screw will hit the clutch cover and you will not be able to pull in the clutch. I did this when first installing my pancake bearing. Found out after i put everything back together and added oil. I recently installed a new clutch from FAST and magnum basket. Found I needed more adjustment but the nut was only grabbing 1 thread. So I took the pancake to the machine shop and had them cut it down to an inch and a half on the nut side. This allows the nut to have full thread engagement, and get the clutch adjusted where I needed it since the othe screw is too long.
