ticktock
Well decided today that I am going to bring my shee to Bahrain with me. It's a huge desert. Has to be a piece of sand I can ride on right! Lol. Although riding in the summer will be out of the question. Not interested in riding at 110* with 90% humidity. Pretty much hell on eart if you ask me. Anyone in the military ever taken you atv overseas? I can't find any riding areas online but there are plenty of wheelie videos on YouTube lol Adam
dave5.0
That'd be cool. What's that gonna cost ya? U gonna be able to get oil and shit over there? I'm guessing you've been in for a while if they'll let you do that?
Larry's Shee
Don't know if it was Bahrain, but have seen footage of racing somewhere over there. Christmas tree, timing lights, illuminated time board, btw, it was up a dune. Night racing.

Burke
Wasn't Bahrain, but I know there are a few places in countries nearby (undisclosed locations in SE Asia) that you can rent fully built banshees, raptors, and 450's... not like here where if you rent you get a 300ex, and there are some amazing dunes over there
ticktock
They will ship for free. I am going to be over there for a year. Oil and stuff shouldn't be a problem and I hear gas is still dirt cheap. I wasn't going to do iit, then I just decided too. Hopefully my Schmerval 10mil will do well over there : ) Prolly not a lot of builders, I can even get parts sent to me for cheap because of the APO address lol. There might be a market in selling stuff that is hard to get, Cubs, Cranks, Duneables and it is possible I can turn a small profit to finish building my my bike. Still need a few things to complete it. I have my go pro, I am shipping a pelican with my basic tools, 255pc Craftsman, screw drivers, hand tools, DeWalt kit and so on. I know that you can rent them fairly cheap too. I do not think they have built banshee I doubt they will let anyone jump on a 421 cub for under a $100 a day. Hopefully the dune crowd is mellow and not too apprehensive to Americans. I better change my Grill out now Adam
fastforworddad
Hey Ticktock, Bahrain is very close to Qatar, as the crow flies. Glad to hear you decided to bring your bike with you. I did the same thing but I went to Doha Qatar. My bike should be here tomorrow and probably clearing customs next week. I can't speak for Bahrain, but I can tell you in Qatar there is a place called sealine where the locals go and it can be a circus. Although it is a huge desert with massive dunes so you can ride away from the locals and their antics. From what I understand, there is some activity at night out on the dunes during the summer months and there is what is called the camping season in October (I believe) where the local guys drag their "caravans" (trailers) to the inland sea which is only accessible with a 4WD when not pulling a trailer. From what I have been told it is quite an experience. Permits are only given to Qatari so you have to know a local to even try and participate. It cost me between 1300.00 and 1400.00 to get my bike shipped here, nice you can ship yours for free. It has been in transit for almost 6 weeks with the end in site. I went to the Yamaha dealer and they had a 2011 banshee for 5200.00 USD, but If I bought one here I don't think I could get it back to the states with out a problem. Parts are very expensive here in Qatar and the only 2 stroke oil I found and would use was Yamalube. I am having some 927 sent over to see if it will actually make it without an act of congress. What is your time frame for making the move? Hope to talk with you soon. Wayne
ticktock
I am sending the bike on the 18th of may and it will arrive on 24 June. Hopefully I have a house by then but I don't think my truck is going to arrive so I may I have to chose something in the city. Yamalube is good stuff, I used to only run that all the time. What are you running for tires in Qatar? Adam
