Also if it makes any difference im installing the tusk honda style kit.
erickson483
Your clymer manual says to slightly toe the front tires in. Measuring from the middle of one tire to the other, the front should measure about .4" shorter than the back of the tires.

erickson483
I'm not really sure what angle you're trying to measure. What section or page are you on in the clymer?
bansheesandrider
so how do i measure the angle on the right hand side tie rod end? says it has to be at 20.5* angle The angle you are talking about is built into the geometry of the front end and is meant for checking if anything is bent. Just set your toe with the handlebars straight ahead and adjust the tierods so the front of the tires are about 1/8 inch closer than the rear of the tires are and the handlebars are straight when riding. Zwiser
What am I using for a reference point when im measuring the front to the back tires?
erickson483
Look in your clymer and there is a diagram to show where and how to measure. It's in the maintenance chapter I believe.
bansheesandrider
What am I using for a reference point when im measuring the front to the back tires? Measure from the center of the left tire to the center of the right tire in both the front and rear of the tires,ie at the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions. The differencr in the measurments is the amount of toe that you have. I hope this makes it clear enough for you.
