06BCBANSHEE
Hey guys So I got my stock axle removed, and I'm in he process of installing the x33. However I'm not to sure exactly how the posi loc is supposed to work. Some pics would really help me out. I got the instructions from durablue but they are kinda vague. Not sure how the loc collar hat goes on the brake side of the axle is supposed to work as well. If you have this some pics would be awesome. Thanks guys!!! nastyracing
The axle nut goes on the sprocket side not brake hub side i will look for some pics for u right now from a bike i parted with that axle
nastyracing
loosen the nut as much as possible slide on slide circlip on snap into groove and tighten axle nut back out against the circlip, the axle nut will thread over and hide circlip when it is adjusted correctly. 06BCBANSHEE
Thanks nasty racing, I got the posi loc part on right, but the capture collar that goes on the brake side, doesn't seem to clip in anywhere? There is a bump or groove on this side of the axle, but how does it stay on? I had the axle powdercoated. Wondering if this little bit of differance Is preventing it from sliding over it? Or once I tighten up the posi loc will the other one just pop into place? The collar and posi loc were powdercoated as well (probably shouldn't have). Really appreciate your help. 06BCBANSHEE
Seems like the only way to get the brake side collar on is to use a hammer and flat head? Or is it just supposed to slide over easily? If someone knows, please lemme know. I don't wanna break it trying to force it on :s
Infamous039
Collar meaning that little circlip that fits in the notch ??? If this is what your talking bout then yes you can use a hammer and flat head to get it on. It will not just slide on by hand b/c its made to fit tight into the groove. nastyracing
its sopose to just slide on the collar that hides the circlip but once its on it doesnt need to come off that side atleast the side where brake hub is. the powder coat on axle is prolly to thick but instead of grinding the powder off just hammer that side on. it will actualy turn out better cause that collar always falls off and gets lost anyway when its on the loose and you disassemble it.
