dmfisher71
curious what voltage does the stator put out to the rectifier to run the headlights... 12 volts i assume...please correct me if i am wrong
sheerider1026
there is no rectifier.. just a voltage regulator.. 12-14v AC.. u can dloat the ground on the stator and ad a rectifier to convert to 12v dc if you like

Coupelx
the stator is capable of 40+ vAC if unregulated.
So Cal Suspension
the stator is capable of 40+ vAC if unregulated. Correct. Typically an unregulated stator puts out 37-40VAC at WOT, 7-9VAC at idle.

erickson483
Use the search!!! AC to DC conversion is a little involved. However, since I'm a nice guy I found you this for you. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=92899&st=0&p=800737&hl=+conversion%20+&fromsearch=1entry800737

Yea it is pretty cool when you forget that you un hooked the regulator and you give it a rev with the headlights on. Nothing like having a set of PIAA H6M Bulbs going off like one time use Flash Bulbs.
