What mains should I start out with? -27.5 pilots -FMF fatties/pc 2s -Stock carbs w/ tors delete -Floats at 20mm -900ft elevation -1.5 on air screws -have carb sync tool -Uni foam pods. Temps are about 40-50*F here in northern michigan right now was thinking of starting with 300 mains. I also have Boyesen Power Reeds. Thanks guys! Thanks guys! with the pods and the cooler temps id say 310-320 to start just to be on the safe side.. probally be ok with the 300s but id start richer untill you know for sure!(plug chops)good luck! ticktock Posted April 7, 2012 Report Share Posted April 7, 2012 When you first run it. Ifthe power band won't kick in with 320's then you are really rich. Drop down to the 300's and check plugs. I started a new motor and it was really fat, no powerband. Dropped down 40 and was great did a plug chop to find I was a tad rich could drop to 270, but 280 was safe.
