Flyinrazrback
My 2006 is stock except Boyesen reeds and FMF Fatty exhaust with Powercore II silencers. Is there much to gain by eliminating the air box, adding PODS and rejetting? I will also be doing the TORS mod as well.
Infamous039
The more air and fuel you feed the motor, the more power it will put it out. Simple logic my man, Now go order some pods, outerwears, and jets.
Flyinrazrback
Thanks, how about jetting? Currently has the 260 jets that came with the FMF system. Elevation is 500' and gets up to 100 in the summer.
2004LEBanshee
260? I would guess those are too small to begin with. What is your in take setup now? Lid, k&n? With the lid off and a k&n I don't think there is much to gain at all. I've switch to pods from an open air box and k&n and changed 1 jet size. I would think a pro flow kit with no lid could flow as much as pods. May be my next setup since I traill ride. main question is where do you ride and how. sprinklerman
Im going to disagree with you gaining anything at all with the level of mods you have now...or will likely have in the future,,short of a all out drag bike. If your airbox has the lid removed, and you run a K&N with a proflo adapter, you will be making the same if not MORE hp& tq. I have seen more than one 70-75 hp 4mil running a K&N with an airbox. I really think the longer intake tract length of the stock airbox helps get a better signal thru the carbs.
Rustynail
You gain 15 min by not having to mess with all that airbox crap to get to your carbs to rejet or maintain.

Now that's a true gain with removing the airbox! although i think 15 minutes is a bit of an exaggeration ,the point is valid.
Flyinrazrback
Thanks I am running the lid right now. I am thinking on taking the quad over to passion racing and let them do a 4 mil build.
slothman
I would say 5-7 WHP ...decent amount of power gain for a quad
